China: Value Added Tax Law enters into force 中华人民共和国增值税法

China’s Ministry of Finance published the VAT Law of the People’s Republic of China on December 25, 2024, set to take effect January 1, 2026. The law formally codifies the existing VAT system into statute, replacing decades-old provisional regulations, and covers tax rates, exemptions, collection procedures, and taxpayer obligations.​​
